    Hi

I am looking for an online Masters in MA in International Relations or Diplomacy or Global Studies which carries a great reputation out there in the work force especially in the government sector.
It has to be done online because of my work schedule, and of course the best tuition prices and/or financial aid. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

The "best" programs for prestige and selectivity probably include the GMAP from the Fletcher School at Tufts, and the MSt in International Human Rights Law from Oxford. Both involve short residency sessions.

Best for cost, in the U.S., probably include the MS in International Relations from Troy University (a state university based in Alabama), and the MAs in several relevant fields from the American Public University System (a private for-profit university based in the Virginias).

    Thanks!Best online MA in International Relations/ Diplomacy/ Global Studies,THANKS

Thanks for all your responses, I have looked into all options presented and narrowed down to two options, (well maybe there are more and I'm open to it)
Can anyone give me some info on NORWITCH MASTERS IN DIPLOMACY and the Denver University on Global Studies? I'm between these two, but I am looking for an institution that is reputable/known in DC and among government agencies recruits to increase my chances of landing a solid career, I'm open to suggestions.

Both have great reputations and from what I understand are very solid programs. Personally, I prefer the University of Denver program just because of the name recognition. If that is important to you, then I would think hard on that one. Thats not to say that Norwich doesnt have a great rep, because it certainly does. But it may not have the same pull as Denver just because those in other parts of the country, or those not affiliated with the military, may not have heard of it. But honestly, you really cant go wrong with either choice. Then again, if you want to work in DC or for the government, Norwich may be the way to go. Again, I think either choice will work for you. I think it really comes down to which program you like the best and the cost.

Can I give you a small piece of advice as someone who has several friends working in the US government (others here could probably echo what I am about to say). Outside of the most premiere programs - Fletcher (Tufts), Kennedy (Harvard), Walsh (Georgetown), SAIS (Johns Hopkins) - where your degree comes from won't matter much in the government sector. It's simply a check mark on a box. Have you ever applied to government jobs? It is literally a box you check stating you have a certain number of credit hours beyond a bachelors degree. The schools I previously mentioned are the only ones that are going to catch the eye of anyone reviewing an application. Just choose an accredited university that is the most cost effective. Best of luck.

For distance learning/online Master IR program, Fletcher is certainly the best. However, it's expensive and request you to finish the program in 2 yrs. Aside from Fletcher, University of Denver Global Affairs program is worth a look among the major schools, certainly from a cost perspective. American University has a strong program as well but might be more gear towards the DC circle (which can be practical from employment perspective). Likewise for a school such as Norwich (among those in military). An alternative would be a Maser Social Science degree from Syracuse's Maxwell School. Maxwell has strong tradition and top notch reputation. While the Social Science degree is not a direct IR degree, it can be flexible enough to acquire a big does of IR related courses. I'm exploring this myself so welcome any feedback.
