hi, i've applied TESC a few days ago, havn't heart from them yet. I'm wondering. can I go ahead take the CLEP tests and send the score to TESC before I enroll any classes. say, I got accepted this week. but I won't enroll class until may be spring 2013. can I still send the score? will there a fee from TESC? thanks

I suggest checking with TESC to see how it works. I took all my CLEPs before enrolling in COSC to save some money...I did not want to pay them while I was just testing.

I took several before matriculating at COSC, only matriculating once I was sure I'd be done in less than a year. It's okay to do some now while you wait if you're sure they'll apply to your degree.

You can take them anytime and TESC will still accept them....you know that you can use FEMA courses for the free electives category right? FEMA are free and available only to US citizens (well, there are exceptions to that but it's essentially true).

I took almost all my courses, including a CLEP exam, before enrolling with Excelsior.

Have you reviewed the TESC catalog to see what their requirements are?

well, my question is more like will they keep my score before I enroll in classes. or I will have to pay $25 per test later after I enroll.

You just have clep send a transcript once for $20 with all your work on it. Once your enrolled you can have any subsequent exams sent directly to TESC....though I only know of a few instances where it would make sense to enroll with TESC before completing the bulk of your clep's/coursework.

Are you taking classes at TESC or trying to CLEP out? If you have a lot of CLEP's to take I wouldn't matriculate until you have most of the exams done...it will be cheaper that way. If you only have a few CLEP's to take then it doesn't really matter.

What are you trying to do? What degree? Where will the bulk of credit be coming from?

thanks a lot. I have some college credit for my major computer science. didn't finish college the first time (some health issue). I will be needing about 20 GE credit and will need to take about 24 credit from TESC for the degree. I'm planning to CLEPing out the GE and spend a year to finish the rest at TESC. thanks a lot.

I will need about 20 credit GE, and will be taking about 24 credit from TESC for my computer science degree. did 2 year at a regular university and didn't finish due to health problem. I was hoping to get my clep done before enrolling in any classes and finish the rest in one year. thanks very much.

you can take any CLEP at any time without being a student anywhere. In addition, they hold your scores for 20 years! When you decide to enroll in a college, you can pay a one time fee of $25 and the whole set of scores will be mailed to TESC.

In addition, TESC charges a hefty enrollment fee once per year, so it's typical at that school to take ALL YOUR CLEP exams ahead of enrolling. You already applied, and that's good for 6 months, so print out your degree plan and start testing! At the end of the 6 months, you can enroll and bring your exams in with you. Good luck!
