So I was doing some research on inexpensive out-of-state tuition and I stumbled into this:

Tuition and Fees | Online & Distance Education | Outreach Credit Programs | University of Wyoming

Thought someone might find this handy since the U of Wyoming tends to be considered an inexpensive option for online degrees.

On the one hand it's one fewer option for most people, which is sad to see, but on the other hand I can't say I blame them for not wanting to subsidize students from out of state.

Wow! That is a substantial price hike.

I've been amazed at how little play UWyo gets on this site. I was once enrolled with them, though I never took any classes. They have some very good options for people who want inexpensive, flexible degrees. Unfortunately, the inexpensive part looks to be phased out in a huge way in just a few years. If anyone is considering them, better gettem while their hot!

Revenues from the oil, gas, and coal boom in Wyoming heavily subsidized large investments in the University's growth, and kept tuition low for years, but I guess all good things have to come to an end eventually. Can't say I'm surprised, but I am disappointed. Affordability is one of the main reasons I wa able to complete my own degree through UW's Outreach School. On the bright side, the distance education landscape has expanded significantly since I decided on UW for cost reasons back in 2001. I am willing to bet that students in every state have access to online programs at local public universities where they would pay in-state tuition. That wasn't the case eleven years ago. Still, I will miss being able to recommend the Outreach School to folks looking for an affordable way to complete their degree.
