Higher Education Through Open and Distance Learning

I am so serious on a topic and I am not been able to catch the conclusion yet. That's so embarrassing! I wanted more information and true info. for Higher Education Through Open and Distance Learning. So I did research and found some books, I got the information but there were no reviews of anyone, so again got confused. I am listing the books I read-

1) Why Distance Learning? by- Gary A. Berg
2) Higher Education Through Open and Distance Learning. by- Keith Harry
3) Open and Distance Learning in Developing Countries. by- H. Perraton

So can anyone tell me the real story and help me out. Will the Distance Learning bring bright days for higher education???

 

Books? Anybody can write a book to publish it, usually opinion based. I would recommend you to read year review articles. To answer your question, 2 words...SURE THING!

 

The great upside for DL is that folks who are not in a position to attend a B&M school during regular "school" hours can earn a degree in an area of their choosing while keeping their job. I would not have earned my undergrad if it wasn't for DL, nor would I be pursuing a Masters degree.

 

The University of London in the UK has offered distance degrees since 1858. Some notable graduates are listed here (not listed is Barnes Wallis, the subject of my MAS thesis):

I earned a distance degree from Excelsior College and was accepted for two masters programs. So probably no problem in academia for distance degrees except possibly for high demand programs.
