    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows about this Tao/Tilburg program. I don't see any accreditation but Tao seems to be some form of an extension from Tilburg university in the Netherlands.

Anyways they offer a DL PhD in Organizational Psy. Anyone heard of it or considering applying to it?

    thanks

I have heard of this program but am not sure as to its accreditation and credibility.

What aspects of this program appeal to your needs?

Well, cost wise its only 3,000 per semester (2 semesters per year). It is apparently also a DL program, with some trips to the Netherlands required to attend some seminars.

I don't know much about Tilburg, or if it is a highly prestigious university in Europe, but I thought that maybe someone here would know.
I haven't heard much of Taos/Tilburg in John Bear's guide to accredited international universities or degree mills, so I'd like to get some feedback on this.

I have been thinking about international universities such as UNISA or British/Austrialian universities to do my PhD in a field related to psychology or counseling. I am still considering Touro if they let me specialize the Health Science degree in something related to Mental Health.
I am not that concerned about APA accreditation for the PhD.

    thanks,
    -S

Well, this is an interesting creature. The Taos Institute does not appear to be accredited (at least it does not appear on the WASC list - I didn't check any others). The programs mailing address is in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and the Development Director is located in Somerville, Massachusetts (with a Harvard email address no less). The only thing that actually seems to be located in Taos is the occasional yearly conference. The fact that they're "spread out" shouldn't mean too much. After all, we're talking DL here, right. Also, I recognized a few names from their faculty list. On the other hand, they say exactly nothing about the exact nature of their relationship with Tilburg ( a legitimate school in the Netherlands) and so that's not so good. Also, I checked the Tilburg University web site and found no mention of the Taos Institute. On the other hand, Tilburg does have both "psychology" programs as well as "organization" programs. In addition, they offer a number of programs in English (although it's not clear that any of these are DL programs). All in all we're left with more questions than answers. I've sent off a couple of emails to these respective organizations to try to clarify these questions. I'll be happy to report back as soon as there's something to report.
