    Hi there again :)

I'm still in my research and decision making stage on choosing a school to continue my education. I've done a bit of searching on these boards, and haven't found much on either of these two schools that are on my "finalists" list.

    Williston State College
    New Mexico Junior College

Am wondering if anyone on this board has attended or is currently attending, or has heard anything about these two schools. Both, so far, have been speedy and helpful in responding to inquiries.

    NMJC is about $50/credit cheaper.

Some folks have really worked the NMJC tuition to great advantage. They have a max tuition for "12 hours or more" of $720 plus fees....they also offer both 8 and 16 week semesters. One could take 12 in the first 8 weeks, 12 more second 8 weeks wind up with 24 credits at around $1500...that's crazy cheap and I don't know anywhere else to get prices like that from a RA CC. It's even cheaper than most of the country pays for their own in state tuition rates. Tuition and Fees - New Mexico Junior College

NMJC also lets you CLEP a good bit of the requirements. New Mexico Junior College - CLEP Challenge

An industrious learner could bust out an AA degree here in less than a year at a bargain price http://www.nmjc.edu/facultystaff/Canvas/AA%20Online%20Degree%20Plan%20%28Spring%202012%29.pdf

Is Williston State near you? Their prices are pretty good and if they are your local CC I can understand selecting them....being a short drive away has its advantages.

Williston wouldn't be near me at all, to be honest. The reasons why I chose the two on the list is that they both offer an Associate of Science, which is what I am after, via Distance Learning. Not a whole lot of places do. Williston does offer an AS in Physical Science, which is -exactly- what I am after :)

I think NMJC is better for the reasons stated, provided they have the degree you need.

Not to burst your bubble, but I don't see where Williston State offers this program online. Ocean County Community College does offer an online AS in General Studies w/ a concentration in Science.

    Good luck!

If you go here -- WSC-Online Programs A-Z you can see what programs they do offer online, and Physical Science is one of them. I did contact them directly to make absolutely sure, and they did say that yes, I can do my AS completely online.

That being said, they are definitely more expensive than NMJC. And NMJC, while they don't offer an AS in Physical Science, do offer an AS ... and when my ultimate goal is not to stop at the AS anyway ... I am not sure it much matters. :)
