    Hello,

i've been looking at degreeinfo.com for a long time and recognize that many people have lots of experience and valuable feedback. so i have come here to see your advice. i'll describe my current situation first, then what my objective is from future study, and finally i'll tell you about the options i'm considering and you can tell me what you think.

    i currently hold:

BSEE from the University of New Haven, CT USA 2003 (Honors, Deans List, National Deans List)
MBA from the University of Leicester, UK 2011 (Distance Learning, but not shown on certificate)
PMP Certification from the Project Management Institute, 2012

I am a project engineer at one of the "Oil Majors". obviously i want to get promoted, improve my alternative options if not satisfied at my current employer, and expand my knowledge base. this is the last degree that i intend to pursue. specific requirements for my future course of study include:

    1) Must be an elite university, Ivy Leauge level or AACSB accredited. money is not a problem. country/location is not a problem.
    2) Must be a distance learning program (as flexible as possible). I travel quite a bit, been all over the world actually, and my employer will NOT release me from work for studies.
    3) Must be related to a subject of interest (Business Strategy, Licensing, Negotiation, Multinational JV's, Geopolitics of Energy/Oil, Development Economics). When i say Energy, i mean traditional and not oil alternatives.
    4) Must contribute visibly to my career development at my current or future employer or provide access to new job opportunities not currently available. For clarity, I highly respect academic work but do not intend to teach.
    5) I prefer a Doctoral program (for the Dr. title).

    I am currently looking at:
    1) Grenoble Ecole De Management DBA which is triple accredited (but this search was the first time i heard of this university and program. i'm not sure how good it is)
    2) Stanford MS in Management Science and Engineering (Policy and Strategy) which is offered through the stanford center for professional development but is not a doctoral degree :(.

please do suggest other options if you are aware of them. any advice is welcome. please do not hesitate to post your opinion.

    much appreciated in advance!

Based on these two items I suggest that obtaining you PE license would be an excellent move.

    Dear Mr. Anderson,

    first, thanks for your suggestion.

by PE license, you mean Professional Engineer license? if so, it is not required in the countries where i am currently working. i might take it if i have better work options made available in the US and decide to move to the US.

also, i realized that i was not clear on what i meant by "licensing", is technology or process licensing. i will clarify my original post.

    thanks dl_mba,

this is a great addition to my list indeed.

Which would you pick as the best DBA in terms of name recognition? Manchester, Aston, Durham, Cranfield, Henley, or Grenoble?

If i can spend that kind of money, Manchester DBA or Cranfield EDBA would be my choice.

I believe Kennesaw State University has a limited residency requirement for their DBA: KSU Coles College of Business - DBA Program

AACSB Accredited, brick and mortar state school.

Disclaimer: my undergrad, MA, and MBA are all from there.
