Is there any tuition assistance for my daughter?

As I have said, my daughter starts at UCLA this fall and I'm wondering if there is any tuition assistance she could qualify for that I don't know about. I know very little about grants and other forms of tuition assistance.

Our family makes too much money to qualify for any low-income tuition assistance. She has an AA with a GPA of 3.63. Which is good, but I don't think high enough to qualify for an academic scholarship.

Any ideas? I figure that I'm pretty much sunk, but I thought I would post and ask, just in case there is something I don't know about.

If she is a member of phi thetta kappa honor society there may be some options.

SurfDoctor, I was provided with this link through the college I am attending. It seems to contain a lot of information on FAFSA, but also has some info on other types of aid and scholarships. I guess it can't hurt to look and see if it provides anything for your daughter.:privateeye:

Did she decide on a major yet? I know the two of you had a difference of opinion.

Look around. There is money to be found you just have to dig for it. I got a $1500 scholarship for being left-handed while at Auburn. Filling out the applications/essays can become tiresome so set a floor (I didn't apply for anything below $1k) or you'll be filling out hundreds of forms with the same information for minimal awards that might only cover 1 book.

She is doing an English major with a concentration in journalism. So you can see who won that difference of opinion.
