Does anyone have an opinion on the TESC PLC program? I really want this training after i graduate from Penn Foster's Electronics technician program. I have about 3 months till I graduate and want to jump right into PLC training. I read degrees, certificates especially tech certificates from TESC are highly respected, true? Thanks for the help.

TESC is a state college, should be respected. I don't know about "highly" but it's a regionally accredited state college. You should have no problem bud.

Are you trying to transfer any credit? Is the PLC training a part of degree program you want to earn at TESC ?
I don't think PF credit will transfer in to Technology programs at TESC because of ABET accreditation.
I can be wrong, so ask.
IF credit transfer is not an issue, then I think TESC has good PLC classes.

You may earn some credit toward AS or BS degree.

Thanks guys, I talked to TESC and they do indeed accept credits from Penn Foster and they had some nice things to say about them too. Made me feel good about my initial choice of PF. The PLC course is I think a stand alone course, its only 3 credits. I'm not sure I'd even have to transfer any credits for this course.

TESC will not accept credits from Penn Foster College. They will accept courses taken at Penn Foster, that are ACE accredited, on an ACE transcript. I went through this as well. Lady there said, "We accept courses from Penn Foster." Later that day or soon after, "We don't accept credit from Penn Foster because they are not RA." After clarifying what I already knew, they did say that of course they would accept Penn Foster courses that are ACE accredited, but not on a Penn Foster transcript.

You're one in a million to get anyone to tell you anything if you aren't actively enrolled with them. Once you are enrolled they answer questions pretty quickly but make sure you have everything in writing, course numbers and specifics.

Now if this is a Penn Foster Career School certificate/diploma program that you are talking about, TESC does give lots of credits for certifications.

For any admins: You can only edit a post for 10 minutes after initial post?

Anyway, since it is only a 03 credit course, not a program, there should be no issue regardless.

Oh thanks for the info, I thought they said credit but maybe not. I know they said some nice things about Penn Foster and mentioned they are ACE reviewed. I am in a Penn Foster career certificate program anyway, Electronics tech. Thanks for the help, and info.
