The non-wonderful Lacrosse University operates from Louisiana. It is accredited by WAUC. We remain dumbfounded as to their ability to continue operations in Louisiana over the last three years, given that state's requirement that unaccredited schools be on an accreditation track. (No such announcements from Lacrosse over the years.) But wait! There's more!

According to their website, the doctoral programs are only offered through their Mississippi location. (Mississippi location?) Only a cynic would suggest this move was orchestrated in order to appear more likely to gain DETC accreditation (which would require cessation of doctoral programs), while maintaining the revenue flow from them. I'm certainly not that cynical.

I think they did that a while ago. But it raises interesting questions. Mississippi has not been a degree mill haven. I thought that perhaps excepting a religious waiver, Mississippi did not allow unaccredited schools. Cook's (?) Institute claims to operate under a granfather clause. What is going on in Miss.?
