It seems these private colleges/universities soon to be converted into profit schools. Wasn't that Myers University in the same situation, and later re-named to Chancellor University?

 

It sounds like swift justice to me (depending on your categorization of justice).

 

This is terribly frustrating as a degree holder from this school. I worked hard and spent a decent sum of my own money on this program. For reference, I also completed an online Masters from an AACSB state school, and the difficulty was comparable, thought the assessments less thorough. Guess I need to update my resume...

I figured that might be brought up - true, it was accredited at the time. But, unfortunately, in this job market - it is my judgment that having something on your resume that may garner concern over legitimacy is just something not worth including. Others may feel differently.

Unfortunately, you're right. I'm sure we'd all like to think that most HR departments are aware of how these things work, but the reality is that many of these places are run by people who haven't a clue about much of anything besides basic processes that they learned mostly on the job from people above them who didn't know much more than that themselves.

LOL Im thinking that it wont end well for Ashford. HLC is finally doing its job and cracking down, so hopefully Ashford will end up like Mountain State and be stripped. They're a nasty joke of a school.
