I can share a bit of my experience...

I applied and was accepted in 2008. I chode Excelsior simply because they gave me the greatest transfer credit for graduate work that id done many years ago and not completed the degree.

I walked in with the MALS half completed, transferring in the maximum Tier II credits (18).

I knocked out the remaining courses: (below) and now am just finishing the thesis.

I completed my Degree Completion Plan, and and am finishing my thesis proposal, should be done by the end of next month, than will wrap ut the thesis in 6 months. Ive been working on multiple degrees at the same time so its taken me a while to get back to finish the thesis.

    Completed Courses and CPNE Exams:
    # Course Name Course Date Hours Grade
    1 MLS*685 STRATEGIC PROBLEM-SOLVING 02/02/2009 3.0 A
    2 MLS*681 LEADERSHIP IN ORGANIZATIONS AND EDUCATION 12/01/2008 3.0 A
3 MLS*683 THE ART OF LEADERSHIP IN LITERATURE AND FILM 09/08/2008 3.0 A
    4 MLS*500 GRADUATE RESEARCH AND WRITING 08/04/2008 3.0 A

I found the classes very interesting. Not too demanding, not too boring, just right for a solid work/life balance.

You have a wide latitude in how you design your coursework, so it can incorporate different disciplines.

I do know that the program is changing so my degree requirements will be a little different than yours starting now. Im pretty sure new students need to take more methodology or historiography courses.

My advisor dr Caldwell is great, very responsive and super helpful!
    hope this helps.
