Hello Everyone, I am looking to expand my horizons, (career wise) and thus have begun searching for online graduate programs (I work full time). I graduated from St. John's University with a 4.0 GPA in Criminal Justice. I was researching advanced degrees when I came across a great sounding program offered by Gonzaga. It's a M.A in Organizational Leadership more info can be found here here Has anyone here gone through this program, or know of some one who has? Basically, I dont want to waste two years of my life and $30,000 for a potentional employer to just dimiss it as one of those "online degrees" or as one person put it a "nebulous degree". I want some thing that will help me when promotion time comes around or if I ever wanted to find a new job. In any event my main goal in all this is attaining a masters to help better secure my future. At this point in time I am a paralegal at a law firm and there is plenty of opportunity to move up. Would this degree help me achieve that? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks, OBG37
I live in Spokane and can tell you that employers in this region love Gonzaga grads. It has a sterling reputation around here (even before their basketball team exploded on the scene) but I am not too sure about its academic reputation in other parts of the country. I know numerous graduates from GU's residence program and only know of a couple of people who took any online courses. The one lady I know was the CO of a local Army Guard unit. She loved the course work (was a graduate from UW) and the flexibility but I never really asked any more detailed questions. Awesome local reputation Maybe a good nationwide reputation (because of basketball) And the kicker.....I'm not sure it would be worth the $30K. Good luck.
I thought about taking their MA in Communications program, but the price tag is just way too high for me.
