There is a lot of talk of ROI/salary and degree so I thought I would put this poll out there. Add comments if you want.

I'll bite first. Total salary 85k with a masters degree. I'm also projecting an additional 13k-15k this year from various adjunct gigs, so total salary could reach 100k. Overall, I'm very happy with my degrees.

There should be a selection for no degree at all. I think most people would be generally shocked how much money those without a degree make even in professional workplaces.

82K with a couple of BA's and an MBA. I took a $15K pay cut to get out of Baltimore and back to Washington State. Well worth it, and my income is helped a bit by my VA disability and my Air Guard drill pay.

Does this count multiple incomes or just only a full-time (main) job? Also, who is the pinky one with over $150K? LOL

I'm counting everything, including looking in my couch cushions and car ashtray to make myself look better. 150K = Randell. It's OK Randell I'm a dumb clinging to my guns religous racist homophobic white male in the pocket for rich people. You can keep your money.

Where did this come from? How do you know what or if I even posted to this survey?

There is a max of 10 slots for responses so I did not add that option/group.

I would like to see folks add a general comment about how they make their money.

Are you working in your degree field?
Do you work several jobs to make that income?
Self employed or work for others?

Without a few qualifiers the ROI can't be accurately assessed.

I finished my BS last November, while I technically have a liberal studies degree, the concentrations are Organizational leadership and Health Care. Since I work as the Emergency Management Coordinator for a Hospital I would have to say I'm working in my degree field. I only work the one job, and of course I work for a pretty large organization.

I'm the lone guy making <50K with a Bachelors so far! :) I actually took a pretty severe pay cut to get this job. I felt I needed some experience specifically as an Emergency Manager to help round out the resume. With that said, I can't stick around for too long at this rate. I often think my time would have been better spent transitioning from Paramedic to RN. Would have been a significant raise for less work. Frankly, I may have made a mistake.

I have an MS-ITM, MBA in Marketing, Grad certificate in Healthcare Risk Management, and PhD in BA/Management. I manage a technical group and manage a group that focuses on education to reduce patient cross contamination due to medical products being reprocessed properly. I work with marketing to develop and launch programs that increased revenue from $100M to $170M a year in a 5 year time frame. While the degrees/knowledge is spreadout over a few fields, they all come into play in my career.

Are you working in your degree field? - YES
Do you work several jobs to make that income? YES
Self employed or work for others? Work for others

I think you should have included AA degree & No Degree as categories. I have a two AA degrees and I am almost done with my BS Degree. I selected the Bachelor category even though I don't technically have my BA yet. 1 Year to go :)

    Disregard my suggestion then... :)

    Hi Rebel,

I don't have my Bachelor's yet, but my AA degrees are both in General Studies (Liberal Arts) like yours. One emphasis is in Art & Human Expression the second emphasis is in Social Behavior & Self-Development.

Are you working in your degree field? *I work in the Online Industry for the 2nd largest online e-commerce only company in the US; I am just shy $40 with an AA degree. You would think that being such a large company, I would make more (especially in CA, but that's not the norm). I'm sure I'll change as earn my BS and then my Master's.*

Do you work several jobs to make that income? *Besides being a student and wonderful husband; this is my only form of income ;) Yet, I did do some one-on-one tutoring in math for LAUSD to high school students (an added $700?)*

Self employed or work for others? *Work for a corporation.*

Yes, hence the 0331 = Machinegunner and 0151 = Admin Clerk for my user name. I transferred over to the Air Guard some years ago.

I was just guessing, no worries I cannot see whether youposted to the survey or not. My post was tongue in cheek and I don't care how much money you make.

I was telling you that I was the "dumb clinging to my guns.....etc in the pocket for the rich" person.

That it was OK for someone to make money. Even though it makes you evil....and racist.....and probably misogynistic too....I was giving you permission to make money. As it were.
