    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a medical microbiologist by profession from India with postgraduate qualifucation i.e. MD . I have over 30 years of research experience in various areas of Microbiology viz.HIV/AIDS,STD,Tropical Diseases,Respiratory infections and Dermatophytes. I have over 40 international publications. I am currently holding a very senior position under Government of India. Previously I have held many senior positions.

I have been fortunate to have the honour of being awarded the Fellow of Royal College of Pathologists ( UK ) through published work in the year 2005 (vide attachments). I have data on a 15 year follow up study on HIV-1 positive remunerated blood donors in relation to disease progression (1992 - 2007 )which remains to be published.

I will remain grateful if someone could kindly guide me in case I can be eligible for the award of D Sc degree through my published or unpublished research by any university in any relevant area. I am prepared to pay the requisite amount of university fees.

    With personal regards,

    Thanking you,

    Dr D Chattopadhya,MD,FRCPath(UK)

Most British / Irish universities award higher doctorates on the basis of published research - DSc, LLD, DLitt etc. These are ranked significantly about a PhD, and are usually taken by those who already hold a doctorate and have a significant academic track record.
