I'm interested in degree programs that are NOT accelerated. I have several medical conditions that forced me to drop out of the first and only online school I've tried, which had "semesters" that only lasted 5-1/2 weeks. The last time I posted here, several people recommended independent study, which would be ideal except for the fact that I can't afford it. However, before deciding to go entirely online, I was able to keep up with an online class that followed a normal semester timeline (it was offered by a local university and lasted 15 weeks, if I remember correctly). Unfortunately, this university doesn't offer programs entirely online. I'm specifically interested in health-related BS or BA degrees - health sciences, health advocacy, etc. I would probably only take one class at a time (due to my health and personal preference...I'm doing this more for personal fulfillment than potential employment). I would be willing to consider other focus areas, like psychology or general studies, but the most important thing here is that the program NOT be accelerated. Thanks in advance for any advice or assistance.
Here's one you can look at: BA, Health and Human Services Concentrations- UMassOnline.net I'm sure there are others.
I am starting Fort Hays State University virtual college in June. I can't attest to the quality of education yet, but their classes are not accelerated. It is $174 per credit hour for undergraduate classes. Most classes are three credit hours. I found that extremely reasonable. Here is a link to the virtual college of FHSU..... Degrees/Certificates - Fort Hays State University Link to the Virtual College General Education - Fort Hays State University Link to Bachelor of General Studies Psychology - Fort Hays State University Link to Bachelor of Psychology General Studies Health Promotion - Fort Hays State University Link to Bachelor of General Studies with a concentration in Health Promotion Good luck in your search! Edit: Their summer courses are accelerated. The fall and spring semesters are not.
[QUOTE"I'm interested in degree programs that are NOT accelerated. I chose distance learning because I have Crohn's Disease, and am unable to attend traditional school. I would always be in the bathroom and miss the class!:Flush:
