Does anyone here know of any schools that offer a master's degree in theology through distance learning?

Liberty is one of your better options. It's regionally accredited, has name recognition in the evangelical world, offers a real campus presence with a business school and an ABA accredited law school, and is an affordable option as far as grad schools go.

Another affordable option, though a distance second in my mind, is Global University (MA Biblical Studies).

I was looking for a program from an evangelical Christian perspective.

What do you think of the coursework at Liberty University? Are the courses academically rigorous? Do the online courses cover the same material in the same depth as the courses on campus?

I'm not doing classes on campus. However, I like the format a lot. Each semester can be cut into two eight week formats. It is rigorous, and I plan on getting my Masters in Pastoral Counseling (at a later time) from there. It's a really good school and I for the price, it's probably the best offer if you can manage 15 units to maximize the brick tuition amount. :)

You need to get copies of Walton's Guide to Christian Distance Learning and Baker's Guide to Christian Distance Education.

I have 3 degrees from liberty distance learning / online. Yes on both accounts. In fact... I took my first semester of bible ciollege courses from global university (been a while...) and liberty is surely a first choice but Glibal has solid programs.

Looks like you’re getting plenty suggestions on evangelical programs. Wish you the best in your search.

If you need a regionally accredited MA in theological studies Global University may be the way to go. This school is affiliated with the Church of God and awards degrees up to the MDIV, maybe even DMIN, not sure. Price is about 240$ a credit hour. If a TRACS accredited degree will work Grace school of theology is offering degrees up to the Masters of Theology through distance ed for 150$ per credit hour. They come from a free grace and dispensationalist perspective. I am starting classes there in a few weeks, I will post about my experiences then :). Happy hunting!

Global is affiliated with the Assemblies of God.

My mistake, Global is affiliated with Assemblies of God.

The Church of God and the Assemblies of God are quite similar, but not one in the same. Global does offer a substantive academic program.
