So my advisor called me today and told me she just found out that we are allowed to do a double major if we want. We're not relegated to just an Interdisciplinary Studies degree if we want to study more than one thing. Now we can do actual double majors. WooHoo!!! So obviously Im going to do a double major in Political Science and Communication. I was torn between them and now I dont have to choose. YAY!!!

Congratulations! You will be very busy. How many classes will you take per semester?

2-3 per semester. Im really excited about it. It wont add any extra time or money because I will be using all of my electives to do the coursework for the 2nd degree. So I can essentially graduate with 2 full bachelors degrees for the time and price of 1 (Im knocking out gen eds with the CLEPP and some CC classes while I do ASU classes, so Im really trying to save time and money).

    Go Sun Devils!

Good Stuff! I've always liked ASU for some reason. Watching behind the scenes footage on ESPU last season added to my feelings about the school. It seems like a great school to be connected to.

Thank you, thank you :D Might I also take a moment to brag a bit on my son? He's 14 and has high functioning autism and adhd. He's currently home schooled and will be starting 9th grade (at home) this fall. He wants to be an adolescent therapist at a mental hospital and will be taking AP classes while in high school (to us "oldies" as he put it, that would be dual enrollment). He's hoping to knock out 2 AP classes per year, graduate highschool with a year of college already done, and finish his 2nd year of college at home online through our local CC (that was my idea and he liked it a lot :D ). After he gets his associates degree, he wants to go on and get his bachelors online from ASU just like me and his dad. YAY!!! Its a family thing now!!! He's not sure where he wants to get his masters yet, but I know it will be online, as well. Im just so proud of him that he listened to my suggestions, has a firm plan for the future, AND WANTS TO BE A SUN DEVIL LIKE ME AND HIS DAD!!! Its been an awesome day :D Couldnt be happier.

    Good luck NMMTD!

Curious, did most of your previous credits transfer to ASU? I was thinking about getting a 2nd bachelors there in Communications but I couldn't tell if they were transfer credit friendly speaking with their advisor.

So husbands plans changed too? Have you figured out how much cash this will save overall?

Well he was going to a for profit, so switching to almost any non profit will save money. LOL He has more classes than me to transfer over, so Im not sure yet what the cost will be. I know he plans to CLEPP 3 or 4 classes. Beyond that, Im not entirely sure.

"Anyone attending/attended/thinking of attending Schiller International University???

After a long and winding academic road, I have finally found myself here at Schiller International University. Im working on my BA in International Relations and Diplomacy . I LOVE IT!!! The classes are very challenging, the staff and professors are top notch, the university is Nationally Accredited and has a wonderful international reputation, it has a fully online campus as well as land campuses in Florida, Germany, France, and Spain. I've spoken to several different regionally accredited colleges who have said that SIU credits and degrees will transfer without any problems. So that made me really happy and cinched the deal for me. Im trying to decide where to get my Masters at right now, but thats still a ways off. Anyway, if anyone is thinking about this school, you should come here. Its AWESOME. If anyone has attended or is currently attending, I'd love to hear from you."

Did they take any of your NA credits?

Thanks for the info. I am strongly considering sending them ALL my transcripts to get an evaluation.

ASU has a nice ring to it. Keep us posted on your progress.

No, they did not take any of my NA classes. Luckily I wasnt to far in. They only accept RA classes. And yes, ASU has a REALLY nice ring to it. :D
