I'm looking for an online PhD or D.S. program in Information Systems or Info Technology, and have found one program which covers most of what I'm looking for. Just curious if anyone knows of other comparable or better options.

    1. Totally online or very limited on campus requirement
    2. Affordable (around $25K or so) since I'm paying out-of-pocket...also, I'm military so some schools will give in state rates to us
    3. Reputable...preferably a B&M campus, and not a "for profit"
    4. Have a recent GRE score so no issue there
    5. Would like to finish in 3-4 years

My undergrad and Masters is IT-related, so shouldn't need many or any pre-reqs. The program I've already found is through Dakota State University.

Doctor of Science in Information Systems - D.Sc.IS

This is sort of the model for what I'm looking for...just wanted a few options. Thanks!

There are good number of the program out there; however, the price are beyond imagination. Most of the program are for profit. Don't you have any remained benefit from the GI Bill?

Since you live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Why don't you apply for Ph.D in Engineering Security? A combination from physical, homeland, and cyber securities at University of Colorado - Colorado Springs.

Indiana State University's Consortium Ph.D in Technology Management (Don't know the cost, but explore yourself).

Have the post-9/11 GI Bill but trying not to touch that one so the kids can have it.

Actually not in the Springs anymore...that location was a couple of moves ago. I'm at the point in my career where the rest of our assignments are going to be 2, at the most 3 years, so an in-residence program just isn't a viable option.

Checked out ISU, and that looks like a possibility. You can bypass some of their PhD requirements with Masters-level IT courses, and their tuition rates aren't bad. Would probably take about a year longer to finish than Dakota State, but an option. Thanks!
