Colleagues, I have completed 132 credits from an accrediated university in Pakistan back in 2008 (Major: Communication Engineering). However, due to some of my family problems, i have to leave the University. Now, i am considering to complete my studies and my previous university has no policy of re-enrollment. They actually ..ucks. I am considering the Big 3s, as you people have quite good experience with these colleges. I also have Chinese Language Advanced proficiency. Considering my scenario, which of these Big 3s you recommend for me. Secondly, how long it could take to complete this program and how much it would cost. FYI: World College accepted only 72 credits, since their major was related to Computer Information Technology.
I have not attended any of the big 3, so someone who has could probably give you more specific advice, but really the only way to know is to apply and get the school to do an evaluation. Most schools will not even give you a general guess re how many credits they will accept until you formally apply.
Contact them and see what indicaton they give you. Based on my experience, Charter Oak is the most helpful and open with information before you even enroll
I graduated last year with 2 degrees from Thomas Edison, Thomas Edison State College - Higher Education. For Adults with Higher Expectations. in the BSBA CIS. They also have a BA CS degree. I highly recommend the school as it is a state school and is regionally accredited. There are no capstone courses required for these degrees. Your BSBA CIS degree can be completed through a combination of testing and credit transfer.
I passed a lot of engineering courses in the UK before moving to the USA. I applied to Excelsior College and had my UK courses evaluated by ECE. So the result was that EC accepted my UK courses towards a BSLS. Much of them were engineering so I could apply them towards the 59 semester unit electives area. I then took general education courses at various colleges in the US plus a CLEP exam. In my opinion the Excelsior BSLS is the most flexible degree available in the US.
Ian, this is now really confusing. Every response is for a different institution, "Excelsior College", " Thomas Edison State College" and "Charter Oak College"
Yes, because different people have different experiences to share with you. If you're looking for one single right-for-everyone answer, this is the wrong topic!
My suggestion is that you review the degree requirements for each of these schools then see which bet meets your needs. You should be able to get an idea how your courses compare to those of US colleges but nothing is definite until you obtain one though an approved evaluation agency.
