Hi Guys. I am recommending three prison inmates to get enrolled with the NationsU Masters of Religious Studies program. I have few queries in this regard:

    1. How long it takes to complete this program ?
    2. Is the course material available online, or we need to get them books ?
    3. They all are Muslims. So will it be difficult for them to follow these programs ?

Are there any other universities offering programs for the Prison inmates ?

Is NationsU going to be accreditated soon

    1. NationsU M.A.R. is 36 credit hours. That will typically take 1 1/2 -2 years to complete, depending on how fast one works.
    2. The course material is delivered completely online through Moodle, a high end online university delivery program similar to Blackboard, used by many accredited and even prominent schools.
    3. NationsU is distinctively Christian. These are Bible based programs in Christian Theology and Christian Thought. They are not programs in Religious Studies from a secular perspective. If these muslims are interested in studying the Bible then great, but they need to know that NationsU is a biblical and conservative Christian Institution.

Very likely they will receive accreditation eventually, but their low / no cost model presents challenges, though they are academically sound and programs, professors, delivery method, credibility, professors, etc. are solid. I intent to serve as one in the future... so their profs must be good! :)

Thanks for such a detailed response. So they should start with a Bible first.

That's probably a good way to put it. These programs have academic rigor but are not Religious Studies Degrees from a sociology or historical studies perspective. I think you could be accepted if you are seeking to grow in your faith but this is not a comparative religions program; it assumes a high view of Christian perspective and Sacred Scripture.
