Anyone know of a school offering a DL master's in chaplaincy studies?

You might want to give more information about the range of religious traditions you would consider.

I know that Liberty has a 93 hour MDiv in Chaplaincy, a 72 hour MDiv in Chaplaincy, a 60 hour MA in Religion with a concentration in Marketplace Chaplaincy, and a 36 hour MA in Ministry with a Marketplace Chaplaincy focus.

    Thanks; I'll check it out.

I'd prefer an MA to an MDiv.

Just out of curiosity, what are the standards to be a chaplain in the US Armed Forces?

1 Acquire United States citizenship. Air Force chaplains are required to hold American citizenship (no dual citizenship). If you are not an American citizen, apply for citizenship as soon as possible.

2 Meet basic requirements to join the Air Force. Chaplains, like any other soldier in the Air Force, must meet the Air Force's age, height and weight requirements. For the age requirement, chaplains must be younger than 42 when they enter active duty. For the height and weight requirements, check online for the official Air Force standards (see Resources).

3 Obtain a bachelor's degree. Chaplains must graduate from an accredited college or university with no fewer than 120 hours of classes. You may want to major in psychology, sociology or social work to prepare yourself for the demands of working as a chaplain.

4 Obtain a graduate degree in theology or a related field. You must attend an accredited college or university and graduate with no fewer than 72 hours of classes. You may want to apply to a few programs since gaining admission to graduate school is oftentimes competitive.

5 Get pastoral experience. If you want to become a chaplain, you must have at least 2 years of religious leadership experience.

6 Attain your ecclesiastical endorsement. Speak to your Air Force recruiter to get started on your DD Form 2088. This endorsement certifies that you have met the proper education and leadership requirements to become a chaplain.

7 Pass your background check. Once your DD Form 2088 is complete, the Air Force will conduct a security background investigation on you. Provide any information they may ask of you.

8 Join the Air Force as a chaplain. If you meet all the requirements to become an Air Force chaplain, you will join the Air Force as a commissioned officer with the grade of Captain (0 to 3) or below

Would hospitals, prisons, and hospices in the USA accept a foreign degree for a chaplaincy position?

If you are referring to, e.g., St. Michael’s College (Cardiff University - School of Religious and Theological Studies): M.Th in Chaplaincy Studies; per their website:

    Chaplaincy Studies - Courses

Students currently on the MTh serve as chaplains in:
    • The British Army and Royal Navy
    • Healthcare
    • Education
    • Prisons

Just speculation on my part but … seems so in response to your question (?).
