    Hello Every one.

I have completed my High School from Penn Foster.

Also, have done some of my freshman college credits from straighterline.

My intended Major is in accounting and I would like to start of with an Associate's degree.

    How ever,
a)I'm confused wether should I go with college /uni that has AACSB OR ACSB business accredation.
b)Would you please suggest me some reputed online colleges/uni

My first piority is with University of Phoenix.

    Please do share your opinions.

I would suggest that you rethink your first priority; why not start with a community college to decrease costs, then on to a less expensive university. Do a search for them; Clovis Community College comes to mind, as do several community colleges in Nebraska, New Mexico, Wyoming, and other Mid-Western states. After you have completed an Associates at a community college get back to us or do a search of Degreeinfo for a four year degree. You might start with Chadron State. Good luck.

I agree with Psydoc. A CC is probably the best idea.

With your associates degree, it is not that important for the major to be specifically in accounting. If you don't want to go to a CC and instead want to go online, you might try an associate's in business from Excelsior: Excelsior College | Program Details

Charter Oak is also a good choice: Degree Completion: Bachelors and Associates at Charter Oak State College

As far as the additional accreditation goes, AACSB is the cream of the crop, but, once again, I'm not sure how important that is with an associates.

I don't know what you mean by your comment on UoP. There are a lot of schools out there that are cheaper with arguably better reputations than UoP...they might be right for some but consider ALL your options.

What did yoy get done via Straighterline? Perhaps some CLEP/DSST and maybe a little FEMA and you could pick up that AA from TESC, COSC, or EC in very little time. That would put you well on your way.

    Best,
    Mike

UoP is overpriced. And while most knowledgeable people regard it as equivalent to most other undergrad online programs ... in the minds of many -note that I'm just restating what I've heard from ppl I know who do not frequent places like DegreeInfo- it's considered a joke. (Again, no disrespect to those who have UoP degrees, I'm just restating what is unfortunately a common perception.)

I have taken two classes at UoP (Jacksonville campus) and they were mixed - one was really easy and one was really hard. I do not see the academic quality as a joke but I would question anyone with a UoP degree on their choice regarding cost.

*Disclaimer - I have a UoP AA Degree that cost me $550 in total charges from UoP. It was an AA through credit recognition offered to the military and required one class - the rest were military credits, transfered from other schools, or CLEPed like COSC style - https://www.goarmyed.com/docs/degrees/UP_AA.pdf

    Her's my advice:

    1. Look in your backyard first. Is there a community college option that will be inexpensive?

    2. I am going to put a vote in for Clovis Community College (NM) as well. In state tuition is $39/credit, Out of State tuition is $89/credit. That's one heck of a deal.

    3. If you think you want to go the CLEP/DSST route (since you have Straighterline credit), then looking at the Big 3 (Thomas Edison, Charter Oak, Excelsior) for either the AS or BSBA in Accounting are options as well.

    4. Our friends at GetEducated.com have a great search engine for sorting by price, program, etc.

    5. Finally, The University of Phoenix is overpriced, especially at the undergraduate level. You can find a less expensive option. Good luck!

I am so happy from all your inputs .

I forgot to mention that I prefere only complete online colleges/universities who gives totally online due to my travel abroad scheduled.

And reason why I said I prefere Phoenix . It gives me that advantage and its has own campus in U.S and other part of world.but over priced is other issue that i agree n other things.bla bla...

But, I have kept my options open .
Please list me which colleges/uni that i can take online.

Yes, avoid University of Phoenix. Try some of the other schools that I have suggested or that these other fine people have suggested. They are all much better choices. There is nothing wrong with UoP academically, they are just extremely expensive and not well respected. You can do much better.

True. I was giving a presentation with a group of labor law attorneys last year. One of the attorneys made a comment about UOP, making it sound like a huge joke. No disrespect meant towards UOP grads.

I don't think Phoenix is a bad school academically, but if you're paying your own money -- and that includes loans! -- it's nowhere near worth the price. Moreover, AACSB is important at the Master's degree level if you're interested in going on to become a university professor, but at the Associate's and Bachelor's level, it's totally irrelevant.

Penn Foster VS Ace credits ? Most of the penn foster college course credits are ACE Evaluated . If so would it make me more easy to transfer my college credits from Penn Foster to other Universities online ?

I'm a UoP grad (for my bachelor's) and I agree with this 100%. At the time I did my online degree, there weren't a whole lot of choices, but going back in time I would have tried to make a different choice. I did work hard for my degree and certainly feel that it's earned and academically legitimate, but unfortunately over the years UoP has made a lot of bad PR moves that leave them as the butt of a lot of jokes.

Plus, let's face it - it's a fortune comparatively speaking.

Try Columbia College of Missouri. My wife is now a senior there. 100% online, a good program not marred by reputation.

I say stick with Penn Foster for your associate degree in accounting. You are already familiar with how they work and the program is only about $4,000, which is a great deal for a distance learning program. When you are done with your associate degree at Penn Foster you can then enroll in the BS in Accounting program at Bellevue University, which will accept your entire associate degree for admissions purposes. Bellevue is about half the price of the University of Phoenix. Bellevue isn't a well-known school, but compared to University of Phoenix I think that's actually a plus.

There are a lot of schools that offer completely online study. Colorado Global (and the other campuses of the State University of Colorado System), AMU/APU, the big 3.

What is it you want to accomplish? What state do you call home?

There are too many choices to just give you a name. There are a lot of possibilities.

I agree with Terry regarding Penn Foster. However, after getting you associates through PFC consider Peru State College for your Bachelors. It's tuition is currently $200 per credit hr. vs. $360 per credit hr. at Bellevue, and to my knowledge they'll accept all of your associates degree.

Yes, Peru State is good, too. I wasn't aware they had an accounting program. They will also accept an associate degree from Penn Foster.

Ha...I had to go re-read the initial post....totally missed the Accounting concentration.

I know TESC has an accounting degree....be sure wherever you go is acceptable to the powers that be of the State in which you hope to practice.

Penn foster college is not accredited in offering degree programs thats what I have learnt through St.Leo university online. For this I have to investigate every individual college or uni to find out if its transfereable to the respected Uni .

Bellevue College seems regionally accredited but I have narrow down my search to which University that offers complete online can offer an assocaite degree that has accredation of AASCB OR ASCB .
