Im 58 yearss ld and would to complate an associate degree in human services. For Iowa Central it take 66 credite to complete and Kaplan 90 credits? Yet they are both Human Services, and of cours there is a big difference in the price. Help

Maybe the Kaplan units are Quarter Units (90 Quarter Units = 60 Semester Units). Most Associate Degrees are 60 semester units.

I would take the degree that best fits your needs including courses of interest, cost, method of conducting exams, etc.

In my opinion for people with an established career it does not matter where they earned a degree.

I think with a little research, you will agree that there is no comparison. Iowa Central, without a doubt.

I would pick Iowa over Kaplan. Without really knowing much about either program my reasoning is this: Iowa, as a state school, is going to have a generally better reputation that the for-profit Kaplan. I'd also guess that it's cheaper than Kaplan and that trumps almost anything with me.

Without a doubt, Iowa Central Community College.

    Iowa Central Tuition/Fees = $140 semester hour

Kaplan tuition = $305/quarter hour, (which converts to $405/semester hour)

Yes, I know that books are included in the price for Kaplan, but your books should not cost $800...

    Any questions?

Let's not forget that some CLEPs can help move it along faster and cheaper. Of course, that depends on your current credits, knowledge, and need.

    Iowa Central: Student Success Center

Iowa Central will accept 30 hours of CLEP - almost 50% of the OP's degree.
