Received this email a while ago: :frown: It is with regret that I contact you concerning Northern Kentucky University’s Master of Arts in Integrative Studies. Due to lack of online course availability at NKU, we have stopped accepting applications for this online program. If you would like to be considered for the traditional (face-to-face) program, I will be happy to continue the application process with you, just let me know by replying to this message. It seems to be two steps back!
There is an alternative : Western New Mexico University (WNMU) has an excellent program. Disclaimer, I am completing my thesis (no longer an option) for the MAIS with concentrations in Writing and English.
The WNMU MAIS has been fantastic for me so far...I'm very pleased with the program and the majority of the instructors.
University of Illinois-Springfield: MA – Liberal and Integrated Studies Online @ Illinois Springfield - UIS Athabasca University: MA - Integrated Studies Home : Master of Arts - Integrated Studies : Centre for Integrated Studies : Athabasca University Lesley University: MA or MEd (self designed masters) Self Designed Master's Degree (36 credits)
While there are comparable programs available, it's always sad to see a DL program go under. The more options, the better, IMO.
I have registered with WNMU and should start this summer, for the moment at least to work on getting 18 hrs in a subject for future teaching. But the reason I hesitate is that I have a Bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies and having a MAIS-would that make it seem I'm too indecisive to future employers? Even though there is little difference in integrated studies and interdisciplinary studies I suppose.
