Does anyone have experience with this school and any of its programs. I am seriously considering their DBA in Management or their EdD in Organizational Leadership. It looks like a solid program but I wanted to know if anyone had experience with them or knows what type of reputation they have. Thanks for any help you can offer.
As they are just starting the EdD program at the Chicago location, I decided to check it out. It seemed to be a solid program but the tuition is extremely high - $672 a semester credit hour.
Recently, I just got accepted into Argosy University/Sarasota DBA program. The support staff (Admission Personnel) were very responsive to my needs. In addition, upon speaking to various DBA students that are currently attending Argosy, overall they were all satisfied with their programs. Although, there are many in this forum that do not like the name change from University of Sarasota to Argosy University, I feel that overall this was a great change in terms that now the U of Sarasota is one of Argosy’s twelve (12) campuses . Also, there are various Argosy campuses that offer Psy.D. “APA” approved programs. Prior to making the commitment to apply for admissions at Argosy, I was curious to find out about the acceptance of the degree within the academia arena. I did a manual search via Google.Com “University of Sarasota “DBA” & “Ed.D. Listed below are colleges/universities where University of Sarasota’s graduates are teaching. Please note that the listing only contains “Tenure” position only. The costs of tuition at Argosy University/Sarasota are as follows: · Doctoral $437. Per credit hour · Masters level $397. Per credit hour · Bachelor’s level $272. Per credit hour Hope this helps. Thanks for the information Tom!! I am looking at moving from the business world over to college administration so your post really was helpful. I am glad to see one of the major universities of NC up there. (NC State University)!! Have you been through one of Argosy's intersessions yet? They say they have a weekend option and a week long option. Have you tried both? Any comments on them?
I will start my first class on May'02. However, in speaking to various students at Argosy, the weekend coursework is very rigorous. I did visit the Sarasota Campus, about two (2) weeks ago. The campus occupies 25,000 square-feet of office space to include a nice size library. The staff was very profession and I even had a chance to speak to current students. You may want to do a search on this forum using "Argosy University" to get more details of its programs Good Luck Tom
Tom, I was just doing the search so thanks for the suggestion. I completed my Masters through a weekend program (all courses expect 2 that where completed online) so I hope that will prepare me for this program. Granted this level will be more intense, but I think I am prepared. I really hope my age does not limit me in this program but I have been pursuing alternative college programs since I left the "traditional" college student at the age of 19. I completed my bachelors and masters degree with students twice my age and loved that type of environment. I just hope I can get accepted to Argosy with only being 23. I have the work experience and GPA, so hopefully it will all work out. Thanks again for all your advice.
