Overall what is the reputation of George Brown college? I am thinking of taking the [PLC] Programmable Logic Controllers course at GB college. How would you compare George Brown college to Thomas Edison State College? I am between this two schools for the same course. Thanks for any help.

GB appears to be vocational whereas TESC is academic. One is in Canada and one in the USA
If one course best meets your objectives (content, cost, transferability of credit, etc) then go for it.

GB is actually very expensive. I am leaning toward TESC. The GB PLC program is over $2,000 and I think TESC is cheaper. I am also leaning toward TESC because its well respected. Thanks for the help.

I live in Canada. My take is this: If you live in the US - take it at TESC. If you live in Canada - then - and only then - consider George Brown. One reason: George Brown is not (generally) a degree-granting institution. In Ontario, where George Brown College and I both live, few degrees come out of Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology. If you DO earn one, it will likely be a combo of a two-or-three year College Diploma followed by a "degree completion program" completed through a co-operating University.

I'm assuming credits earned at TESC will apply to a TESC degree. I'm not at all sure how TESC would view the George Brown credits. In all likelihood, you'd at least have to pay to have them NACES-evaluated as "foreign" courses. That said, George Brown is a bona-fide school with a good rep, but most useful to its home crowd - Canadians.

Thank you Johann. So it is a good school then? I'm in the US and I'm really leaning hard to TESC. I'm in NJ also where the school is. Thank you for the help, I appreciate it. I have heard that TESC on a resume looks very good when it comes to technology.

Yes - GBC is a good school. So is TESC. Since you're in the US, I think you're wise to choose TESC. And yes -- it will look good on a resume. I wish you every success.
