Hello. I was hoping to get help in evaluating/comparing the following programs: • Eastern Kentucky University – MS in Safety, Security and Emergency Management (Occupational Safety Program | Fire, Safety, Emergency and Security Degrees from EKU) • National University – MS in Homeland Security and Safety Engineering (National University • Homeland Security courses, anti terrorism and safety engineering degrees from National University) If anyone has experience with either one of these programs (or can suggest other comparable degrees/schools), post a reply or send me a PM. Thanks in advance.
Jacksonville State University offers many Emergency Management degrees, from the undergraduate through doctoral level, at very reasonable cost; JSU - Office of Distance Education - Online Degrees and Certificates
I'm one semester from graduating in the iMPS program at Penn State. If you have any specific questions please feel free to ask.
What specifically are you looking for in a degree? Do you want your degree in "safety" or do you want a more general degree like the ones you have listed? If your interest is homeland security/emergency management, the posts above have some good places to start. If you are looking to work in the field of "safety" (occupational health and safety), I would suggest that you look at the following programs as listed by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP): BCSP | Safety, Health & Environment Academic Programs Directory The following safety degrees listed by the BCSP are not only "safety degrees", but they meet the requirement for the Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) credential: http://www.bcsp.org/GSP
Thanks! I am looking to transition into occupational health and safety. I've been working in the Emergency Management career field for some time now, so I think a safety focus would be a good fit.
