Good afternoon my fellow distance learners. I'm usually the lurker reader or post when I simply cannot find info on a certain topic and today is one of those days. I'm looking for either a free or low cost option for OSHA training (online or distance), but specifically the OSHA 511 General Industry course as a starting point. In searching online there are literally hundreds of options for training, but weeding through them to find something useful is somewhat of a nightmare since OSHA doesn't really endorse a particular program. My employer does not require them either so asking them really doesn't help.

TEEX is a great option but they are somewhat costly. However, I do know that their courses are pretty good as I've taken a few emergency preparedness courses through them. Any ideas or first hand knowledge? Thanks.

Just to give the thread a bump and update, I found this while searching ---> OSHAcademy | Free Online OSHA Health and Safety Training

I'm not sure how credible a program it is, but it offers 'free' courses with the cost coming on the print certificate end. It still looks like a very low cost option to receive training, but I'm just not sure how good it is or if it would apply toward some of the required training needed to sit for the Certified Safety Professional examination. Again, what makes this difficult is that OSHA doesn't certify or promote any credentialing or courses.
