    Hi all,

I am new to this forum and need to find some good study sources for statistics. I am debating whether to take the Excelsior exam, the dantes or the AP tests. Any advice would really be appreciated. Thanks to all for your help, as this should be the only thing standing between me and a BS degree!!

Have you tried a study course on disk from Office Max, Office Depot, etc?

A study course on CD used by many professors for their Statistics classes can be found here. I don’t know if you can get an Authorization Code (required to unlock the lessons on disk) without being formally enrolled in a course, but you can download a demonstration copy of two lessons from the site.

Also, Dr. Hossein Arsham at the University of Baltimore maintains a Web site that is a course on introductory Statistics at http://ubmail.ubalt.edu/~harsham/Business-stat/opre504.htm .

  4. Don't laugh, but:

The Cartoon Guide to Statistics (Larry Gonick & Woollcott Smith)
    ISBN 0062731025

    and

Statistics for the Utterly Confused (Lloyd Jaisingh)
    ISBN 0071350055

.. are my recommendations. Temper this with the knowledge that I have no patience with math in any form, and that the Excelsior Statistics and CLEP College Mathematics exams were my only college-level forays into the subject.

Hello, Why not try to portfolio the statistics class? I'm sure someone on the forum could advise you on several plans if you elaborate on your work experience. I am math challanged and if needed it would be my approach. Have a great evening. Hille
