Does anyone know if Vermont College is a good school? I am interested in taking their distance learning program for a masters degree in criminal investigative psychology.
They say they are accredited but I dont know if its a good accredation.
I know that Vermont College has recently merged with The Union Institute school, so any information on that would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Union I and Vermont

I just dropped out of the Union Institute disembarking from their PhD in Interdisciplinary Humanities. I have nothing terribly wrong to lay at their feet since most of "what you accomplish" is self-ordained...however I felt that there was this tremendous feminist push from thwe school (UI) which in and of itslef is NOT a bad thing BUT when it is used as a PC tool then you might want to consider the political infrastructure which might well dictate overall policy...now you might find this to your liking; it did nada for me. I gave the DL scenario very little time and if you go on their website you will get a blow-by-blow description of the LEARNING AGREEMENT and the PEER DAYS and the SEMINAR modality...all o.k. but NOT for me. Vermont College was a viable school and UI took it over to further feather their nest which again is NOT to be construed as negative or a knock to their agenda...the loose snature of their "teaching" may appeal to you...it DID me originally but I found that I truly needed (at least) some basic premise of curriculum...again it all depends on "what" you wish to gain from the experience...I think it would be worth your while to get their prospectus and then summon up the energy to realize that the process is long and expensive...possibly not the way to go if you do not want to end up in the work farm...however there are pluses to UI (do not get me wrong) but it may be a tad too circumspect for your tastes...please RSVP with any other specific questions you might have...imperoo
