Really? I did my culinary externship in 1989 here Michigan Golf Resorts | Grand Traverse Resort & Spa | Traverse City and one of my house mates was doing his apprenticeship in turf/golf course management. The program was in such demand that there was a lot of competition to get in. Back in the day, that course was a big deal and still holds its own I believe. Anyway, He was young retired military working on a second career. Those guys make 2-3 times what chefs make, hardly embarrassing.

FWIW, the author can't spell embar-r-assing, so......

There is a lot to be learned in a program like that, if done well, even if it sounds wacky. Photography, videography, radiography, cosmology, sociology, psychology, anthropology, journalism, civics, politics, natural sciences... the list goes on and on and on.

The short answer, absolutely nothing. On the plus side, this is one field where you will ALWAYS have customers :boggled:

I studied mortuary sciences at Cypress College.

A mortuary student/intern from CC is portrayed on six feet under:

There is an excellent peer reviewed research journal entitled "Death Studies." It is, perhaps the best single source of it's kind (the main rival being a British journal named "Omega") They regularly publish articles that might fall into a category labelled "funerary sciences," a specialized branch of sociology.

That's cool, but I didn't think of that. I was thinking of Benjamin Franklin's quote "'In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes."

    Your reference is cooler.

I can only think of punchlines in response to this question (cryptozoology; exobiology; metaphysics). Amphiboly only makes it better (which body or which science?).

Go to Cypress College, they are one of the top top ten schools in mortuary sciences.

On the depressive side. The study of this science made me realize just how fine the line is between life and death. I would always find myself wondering, who is this john doe? what was his/her name? What where they like as a small child? And of course the burning question, how did they come to land on this metal slab for us students to poke, prod and study?

    ok, I will move on.

    Happy Holidays!
