    Hello,

I have been looking through various schools: SUNY network, TESC, Charter Oak, but have been trying to find the cheapest regionally accredited online school. I don't care about CLEPS (Cannot take 'em where I live) or ACE credit (though it would be nice). I plan do take most classes through a CC like Luna and Clovis to get cheap accredited courses.

What are some good schools that give deep discounts for Vets (Cannot get the GI Bill any longer). Would prefer NY, as I can get better tuition asssitance that way.

Empire state college is pretty good at $220 per credit. I don't think anything beats New Mexico Community colleges for the price for lower level credit.

I plan on going to UND for my MBA and I plan on taking the prereqs in my degree.

Anyone have any good info? Time is not the essence.

Without testing, your cheapest option for a BSBA per credit hour will almost certainly be through the University of Wyoming's Outreach School. This is a 2-year degree completion program aimed at those with an AA in Business. If you want to earn an AAS instead, you could pursue their BAS program which is administered through the College of Agriculture, but offers a concentration similar to the BSBA. Here is a link to all of Wyoming's degree programs:Online Courses, Online Degrees, Certificates and Endorsements | Distance Education |Outreach Credit Programs | University of Wyoming Enjoy!

    TEKMAN Semper Fi!

Fort Hays State University has Bachelor of Science in Information Networking and Telecommunications Computer Networking and @ 174.00 per semester credit. If you have lot of Knowledge in Information Technology, I would recommend Western Governors University program... Maybe you can get it done within a year...that is less than $10,000.00

    BAS or BAAS degree

I am very biased toward the BAS or BAAS management degree.... mainly because veterans can usually transfer their military & many industry courses and experiences into such program. This could reduce time to degree by as much as one academic year. It is generally recognized as a legit undergrad degree for grad school purposes.

Have you pulled your SMART transcript for your ACE Evaluated Credit? How many credits do you have?

according to my SMART transcripts, I get about 19 credits. 4 years, you would think I would have more than one semesters worth of credit lol Some of my 'C" schooling does not get credit though, as it has not been rated by ACE. Most likely because at the time it was classified info. But hey, this is good for one whole semester.

That 19 credits could be the minimum number of credits allowed. Talk with the admissions people and ask if any of your other experiences might be considered. Ask questions! Don’t let them blow you off! Be persistent! You could shorten your path to degree time by a significant amount of time.

Read their ‘ways to earn credit’ carefully and shop degree programs. Some schools also have their own in-house challenge exam programs in addition to national exams (CLEP/DSST/etc.).

At the end of the day the school that allow the most ‘alternative credits’ may be the best deal, even if per credit cost is a little higher.
