Hi, I will be sponsoring a Domestic Helper in the coming new year and will try to provide for her about four/five years or so, until she becomes a permanent resident. In addition to providing her English courses, I'd like to find something that will help her in the future.

I was also looking into other Bible/Divinity/Theology diploma or degree courses that can be completed as well. I may look into Nationsu and see if it is a good option for her.
There are other cheap options like the Big 3 and Canadian options, as well as the CLEP and FEMA, other exam options and so on but i'm not sure if there are any for health.

Anyways, in short, she is currently a pharmacy assistant in the Philippines. She should be arriving in late January or Early February. I would like to find a program in the health field that may be completed by distance. There was a thread earlier about Sandy Hill Institute of Naturopathy, are there any similar programs like this? Thank you,

Be sure to work on the English skills first. Any reputable Uni will want an acceptable TOEFL or IELTS exam score prior to accepting enrollment.

My suggestion is to check your local community college. Most have good ELS programs and she can work on her associate's degree, maybe in pharm. That would liaison her with something she was already familiar with and perhaps the aspect of it being taught in a foreign language wouldn't be as awful.
I would avoid CLEP, FEMA, and other accelerated options- including online courses. These tests are in English, with comprehension an aspect that many native speakers struggle with. Seriously, and Online courses are notorously writing-heavy...again, something many native English writers struggle with.

I agree with Jennifer. Community college might be better for her because the isolation of online programs will make her struggles with learning English even more difficult. Immersion is the best way to learn a language and the social isolation would make things difficult.

I would recommend that you have her go through the first three levels of Rosetta Stone English. She should concentrate on that exclusively for several months before she does anything else; you might be surprised at her progress. I am currently using it with a student from Sweden. He is rocketing through it and amazing us all with his rapidly developing English skills.

Most Filipinos already know english. They are taught our language in the Phillipines. How do I know this? I'm married to a filipino. :)
