All; For all of the storied lack of communication concerning getting into UNISA, once you are in the community, there are some impressive unofficial resources. See the UNISA Wikistudent Site for unofficial information about the various modules: WikiStudent, Unisa student wiki There is an excellent UNISA NING, see this: UNISA Students Network - An online community for UNISA students
I'm not surprised that with all of those students someone was bound to put something like this together.
Good for them, UNISA has been on my radar for quite some time. Maybe in the near future I will take the plunge and apply to one of their PhD programs. (I have been putting money aside just in case) :smoker:
There's a forum called StudyBuddies too. Check it out at Study Buddies | Online forum for students studying at UNISA.
That's a good find! It looks like a newish site - I joined it just now, and there is not too much activity. I am sure that anyone contemplating UNISA would find some assistance here.
I must say that this thread has calmed me somewhat about inrolling at UniSA . knowing that there is a support system ffor students .
I have another question Are there study aids \guides that one gets when one inrolls? Text books ect...? In other wods : what does a studet who has inrolled get ? I know that in other DL institutions students get text books to study from as part of the OL programme { Im talking about Master programmes in Psychology} Thanx The gal from Israel ;-)
It depends upon the program....... but in general [for grad/doc studies], you will receive a detailed study guide, a list of recommended and/or required reading, and information about getting books, study materials mailed to you from the library. You will also be given passwords for Unisa's various educational data-bases. I general, I found the library to be quite reliable and timely. I also made good use of local US libraries.
