You have to CERTAIN that you will be allowed to take the bar exam where you live. Otherwise it is virtually worthless.

St Francis is registered with the California Bar as an unaccredited distance learning law school. So their JD graduates can take the Bar Exam in California.

Outside of California, there are no guarantees. Some states may accept unaccredited JD degrees, if you previously passed the Bar Exam in California. Other states will not accept them under any circumstances.

The school appears to be rather new, as their web address was only registered in March 2010. The 2010 and 2011 Calbar exam statistics don't appear to include any records of any St. Francis law grads taking either the First Year Law Student's Exam or the General Bar exam.

I looked up some archived web pages for the California Bar's list of law schools. St. Francis wasn't listed in November 2010, but they did appear on the list in July 2011. So they apparently been approved by the CA Bar for only a year or less. This would explain why there are no exam results for them.

I feel like I have to point out that there are other California Approved law degree programs that have more established reputations. If you're going to take a chance on a non-ABA DL program then you may as well pick the one with the best track record.

Thanks for the responses. I wanted to study law mainly to study for the California bar, not a career move. I do feel that one has to pass the bar to attach sone legitimacy to the JD. I was just really impressed by the faculty...Stanford JDs, Michigan JD, Hasting JD, Boalt JD, along with a Harvard Masters, just to name a few qualifications. I googled the faculty independently and noticed that none mentioned their position as faculty at St Francis which made me a bit suspicious.

Impressive faculty credentials.....one of the few unaccredited law schools I've seen where all the J.D. qualified faculty are from ABA schools.

This suggestion is confirmed by a FAQ at the St. Francis website:
