College Algebra non-proctored exams?

I am going to school at Purdue and taking all online classes this coming Spring. I have to take Math136 this Spring or Summer to get my degree, but am traveling for work a great deal and have no room to head to school testing site for supervised exams. At Ivy Tech all exams are proctored is there any other Indiana school Math152, Math154 or Math136 (college algebra) class that works? IUPUI, IPFW andy Purdue school or school in any state that will transfer but not require supervised testing?

I am doing a proctored testing for a psych class and it's just a huge annoyance. Know of any classes that won't interfere with my travels and offer nonproctored exams? I can do one maybe, but I don't want to go into Campus ever, precisely why I choose online classes...don't want to be bothered. What is the best campus to get online math and really get an online experience not this last minute, and not an " oh by the way take 3 tests here these weeks". I hate to be bogged down by that schedule, too busy! Any help would be awesome! I might take summer class or accelerated summer. Whatever it is just needs to work with my schedule.

Congrats on attending Purdue, that's very impressive. The problem with taking classes outside of the school is the possibility that they will not accept them in transfer. Even if someone can point you to a non-proctored class, be sure that Purdue will accept them into their program. I have no idea of their transfer policies.

That would only be the one test for 8 credits, you can take it at any clep testing center :)

II guess my post Im refering to is being checked by a moderator....I suppose it will catch up.

Yes and fortunately, I was online to approve it pretty quickly. Keep posting and I think you will be out of the moderation phase pretty soon. Not sure of the exact number of posts required but I think you are getting close.

They seem pretty lax in what they accept. Seems that there just needs to be an accreditation. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the reply! I don't think I'll be able to get it done with CLEP. Psych major, so I'll only need basic college algebra. I wonder if Colorado has something to offer or out of state schools.

Most schools are liberal in acceptance of general education credits. When I was taking a summer course at Quincy College (city owned two-year college), I had a Harvard undergrad in my Intro to Philosophy course, which he transferred to Harvard.

I heard Colorado Community College and Amberton University in other forums. I am willing to pay 700 dollars for class, I just need non proctored. Test, quizzes, fine. With traveling for work and no definite proctoring site and my brain that hasn't used math in years, this is my best fit. Does anyone know if these are accredited institution? I can't find any other info.

Don't be so sure of that. There was a time in the recent past when Purdue (and Indiana) would not accept many general education classes from Ivy Tech State College despite it being a fellow state-owned regionally accredited institution. Your best bet is to check with Purdue. I know IU has a database that shows historical information for schools that students have transferred credit from.

Oh, I asked the Math Department. Looks like they will take many general classes like Math, Psychology and English. I just need College Algebra, so I assume they are accepting because of how basic it is. I really appreciate the answers guys! Seems like Colorado College might be what I end up with. Clover College is proctored, but way cheaper. Though, Purdue doesn't seem to keen and the answer on that College Algebra class transfer is delayed. They may or may not accept that class.

Sounds like a bit of a hassle out of state because of the printout math packet you have to printout and mail and the exam that requires that same thing. Eee, scared me off! But thank you so much for looking into that. I'll check Florida out now!

Last time I checked Excelsior College does not require proctored exams for its classes. I took the Intermediate Algebra online class through them years ago and there were no proctored exams.

Several years ago I took an upper level math class through the UCLA extension program. There was no proctoring required. I would provide you some links, but my break is over. Try doing a google search.

    Welcome aboard!
