It is official I am changing universities/majors. I am going to do what I have always wanted to do but didn't want to do because of cost.....Counseling. My heart is telling me what I should/want to be doing and I am going to listen to it.

University of Nevada-Reno Masters in Justice Management is a great program if anyone is interested in justice management. The instructors are great and the content though geared toward management heavily is solid and allows one to have a life while attending.

However I am going to change to a Professional counseling program hopefully at Adams State College in Colorado if I am lucky to be admitted to one of the cohorts. I won't be able to start until Summer which kinda stinks but I am happy to be starting period.

So how many of you have changed programs after earning 9 credits!

I think this is a good choice. If you can find something that you truly enjoy doing, you will thank yourself for the rest of your life. So many of us get involved in something we hated doing but did it just for the money. Go for it.

You are so right. I have been telling myself not to go for it because of cost yet I always come back to it because it is what I have wanted to do for years and frankly I am pretty good at it and I enjoy helping others. So I am going for it! Hopefully I will get admitted :)

I felt the same way about attending Law School - while I am not in a position to attend a B&M (at least not at this point in time), I started a distance degree. Yes, the cost is there, but generally speaking, education still yields the highest return on investment (provided you don't go overboard). I would also like to add that you only completed 9 credits, and not 29 or 59 before you decided to follow your gut and heart :)

Very nice. I'm glad to hear it. Best of luck to you in the counseling program.
