    Make that 3;

    A ) When someone double posts, you use the merge feature - you don't ban them(permanently), esp. if they're new users and they are not aware that their responses do not appear immediately - that they must get approval from a mod, since this is out of the norm it is not expected. AFAIK I double posted once, and I stopped after I noticed that it was because I was awaiting mod approval ( I don't read the message that appears when I post because typically it says something like "Your response has been posted, click here to return to etc..,"

    B) Please approve my posts I've been waiting three days to get approval from in my only thread posted by Jeremy_

    C) Unban me and revise your moderation guide-lines.

    This is such a waste of time and very much deviates from my primary purpose of registration - which was to get a quick answer out of a knowledgeable body.

    I don't expect this thread to be approved, only acknowledged.

    Hi Jeremy - I don't know why you were banned before but it seems that you've effectively unbanned yourself by re-registering. I can tell you this, we ban lots of people every day. Sometimes dozens. The vast majority are spammers. The basic philosophy is "shoot first and ask questions later." Typically we don't ask a lot of questions, we assume that if a mistake is made then someone will speak up, just as you've done. I don't expect that our guidelines will be modified. Sorry for your inconvenience.

    I'll add that we don't ban people for double posting. Your recommendations are exactly what we have always done.

    Also, there is a message that displays on the screen after you submit your comments which tells you that your post will be held pending moderator approval.

    Jeremy,

    I was the one who banned you and I think I must have mixed you up with a spammer when I was banning them. I reinstated you and sent you an apology and I suggest that you drop it now and go on as a welcome member.

    Ah, enough said. Heed the advice Jeremy.

    Now that that is out of the way, welcome aboard.

    Can I expect my posts to be approved or should I repost.

    Your posts are always approved unless they are spam; there is usually no other content filtering that we apply. We do occasionally have to deal with someone who is racist, obnoxious or otherwise objectionable to the community, but that is rare. We would never filter posts just because we don't like someone. However, timing usually depends on whether there is a mod online at the time you post and if one of us notices it. So sometimes you will have to wait. After a number of posts, you messages will appear immediately.

    Here's the full story on how that works: http://www.degreeinfo.com/general-distance-learning-discussions/35100-new-users-ask-where-did-my-posts-go.html

    There ya go. See, I happened to be online and see your post. Read the info on that link and you will understand how it works.

    Jeremy, I deleted your post because something you did with it was messing up the formatting on the board. Also, I will ban jeremy_2 and reinstate jeremy_, I think I already reinstated it, but I'll check. As for your reference about the Canadian engineering accreditation, you can start a new thread with it if you would like; the original thread was deleted.
