The other day I got a flyer from NYU about an online program they were offering looking in BG14 it appeared that they (NYU) had not been doing this long. Upon looking at the site they apparently have several online degree programs at the bachelor and masters level. See New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies . the program in the flyer was an MS in Translation with either a Finacnial or legal emphasis. I checked and they are RA.
also worth noting The NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies administers the foreign language proficiency tests that receive occasional mention here on the forum. Test results are transcripted by NYU. Details at http://www.scps.nyu.edu/dyncon/acfl/gene_prof.html
If memory serves, New York University is the largest educational institution in the country and, indeed, an international research center. (Also relevant to this forum: It's where Mariah Bear earned her M.A. in Journalism.) Cheers,
Eep--you're right. NYU is the largest private university in the country. I knew I wrote up some sort of claim-to-fame along those lines, and, sure enough--from Get Your IT Degree and Get Ahead, page 257: "With more than 36,000 students, [New York University] is the largest private university and research institution in the U.S." (See, folks? Get Your IT Degree and Get Ahead is fun and educational!) Cheers,
No problem Tom, I didn't even realize that NYU was the largest private university in the US until I read this thread. Live and learn. For me and my fellow Seinfeld junkies, NYU will always be remembered as the place where Kramer got his Intern. Bruce
That reminds me: Did anyone catch Watching Ellie the other night...? I saw just enough of it to see that the writing seemed to be above par (which surprised me a little), and there wasn't a laugh track (it pleases me that so many comedies are going that route now, because I've never liked laugh tracks). I was never much of a Seinfeld guy myself (though I find it much funnier now than I did back when it was on the air--it's an age thing, I think). Cheers,
