Does anyone know of some good marketing certificates? I'm considering augmenting my Ed.S. (currently in progress) with a marketing credential. This would help me with administration of extension university campuses in competitive markets. Here are some factors: 1) Cost...can't be completely outrageous without some major benefits 2) Must be 100% online....I won't travel for a certificate. 3) Must be general enough to be applicable to a higher education context. I really would like to learn more about this, so the level of the credential doesn't bother me too much. I would consider undergrad, grad, and professional certifications. The only reason I would want a formal certificate is to be able to list it on my resume as a validation of knowledge. I'm not doing this to teach marketing, so the 18 grad hour situation doesn't apply. Any thoughts?
Thomas Edison State College Undergraduate Certificate in Marketing 18 sh. Introduction to Marketing has a CLEP. Advertising and Sales Management have TECEPs, as does Marketing Communication which you'd think should be there and perhaps is omitted only by oversight. So you could be a CLEP, two TECEPs and two 3 sh courses, or a CLEP, three TECEPs and two 3 sh courses, plus TESC fees for certificate enrollment the details of which aren't clear, away from the certificate. Or, hey, take some more as courses!
FHSU has a 12-credit marketing cert, $235.50/credit Marketing - Fort Hays State University I can't speak to its quality, never taken any courses there.
Expensive but specific! Walden University Graduate Certificate in Enrollment Management and Institutional Marketing Capella University Post-Master's Certificate in Enrollment Management For reference, here are some on the ground or hybrid programs specifically in enrollment management, from Bay Path College, the University of Miami, and SUNY.
At your own pace, etc., the perennial favourite Edinburgh Business School has a progression from individual graduate courses, to a Postgraduate Certificate, to a Postgraduate Diploma, to an M.Sc. or M.B.A., if you choose, in Marketing. PgCert/PgDip/MSc structure, MBA with specialism in Marketing structure, individual courses.
