    Ok, so here's the deal:

I know that my future in education likely lies with non-traditional higher education.

I also recognize that my academic credentials (B.A. in Ministry from a religious college + M.A. in Human Services from Liberty) would not ingratiate me to the average secular school.

An Ed.D. from LU is probably therefore a complete waste of time, so the issue boils down to doing the Ed.S. or not.

I've been thinking about other options, including for-profit PhDs, which I have ruled out at this point.

What about an MBA? With the proliferation of AACSB-accredited MBAs available online, it seems like a realistic way to improve my resume.

It would also be nice if I ever needed to transition out of the educational market.

    Thoughts?

And in case anyone is wondering why I am so back-and-forth.....

    It stimulates me mentally.

I wouldn't touch that comment with a 10 foot pole.

An AACSB MBA might be just the ticket for you since you would like to have something impressive on you resume that is not from a Christian school. It would speak well to your management abilities in the administrative position you are currently in too.

Completing an MBA is nothing you should take lightly or do "just because". What about a graduate certificate that could roll into an MBA? A business graduate certificate is a great resume builder without a full-blown committment.

I have thought about that, particularly in tandem with the Ed.S. The Ed.S. would be helpful because my BA and MA aren't education degrees. I thought about combining it with a graduate certificate in marketing (good for recruiting, advertising, etc. at an extension campus).

What about a certificate in Religious Studies and Education from Harvard Extension? Religious Studies and Education Certificate It can be done completely online, it bridges your prior work with education and in some sense it legitimizes your academic credentials by translating them into a more mainstream context.
