From a book commenting on the CPA exam... "Nothing that is easy commands much respect. Accomplish what others can't do and you are respected."
When I was in the Army, I always thought that "fast roping" out of a helicopter was easy, but Air Assault wings command a lot of respect. Conversely, I can't hammer a nail straight, but I'm certainly not in awe of carpenters. "Easy" is perhaps the most subjective word in the English language. Bruce
Re: Re: Advice True. Easy is subjective. I have always enjoyed writing and analysis of concepts. Hence, I have done well academically in Counseling and other Social Science fields. Now, give me a quadratic equation or a kid's 6th grade math homework and oh boy have I got a problem. I cannot draw anything worht looking at but I have met kid's with average to below average IQ's who draw wonderfully. Your Air Assault comment reminded me of what the Airborne used to call the Air Assault (dope on a rope). I say that respectfully, because I was neither Airborne or Air Assault. Either of those patches commanded respect amongst the "chair borne". North (former 71M20 - Unit Ministry Team NCO whose Chaplain was an Airborne Ranger).
Re: Re: Re: Advice That brings back some memories. Another favorite is when you show up at Airborne School with Air Assault wings and are told that you have your Learner's Permit. Bruce
