    Hi everyone-

I'm looking into MBA online programs. I graduated in 2009 with a BA in Communications (minor Biology), so I know I will be needing pre-req's. I am looking for MBA programs that have emphasis or specialization electives, as well. My career is in the healthcare industry, and I have also worked with technology aspects in healthcare (Training analyst for EPIC, managed care, registration, scheduling, and policy and procedure hospital wide sites). I have narrowed my list down to a few schools. My main criteria when considering are: AACSB accredited, no long residencies (a few days are ok), tuition under 40k, B&M background (not just an online school), and specialization/emphasis (healthcare related). These are the schools I am looking at:

-University of South Dakota (MBA in Health Services Administration)
-University of Wisconsin Consortium (MBA with Healthcare emphasis)
-University of Colorado-Colorado Springs (MBA with Healthcare Administration emphasis)
-SUNYIT- (MBA in Technology Management with a concentration in Health Services Management)

I'm leaning towards SUNYIT, but I would really appreciate some feedback on these programs. Thank you!

I would think having the degree accredited by CAHME would be a greater benefit than AACSB to you since you already work and (I assume) desire to continue to work in healthcare. AACSB really only matters if you plan on teaching somewhere down the line with your degree.

Where are you located? I would pick the school, that meets your criteria, that is closest to you with the best reputation. You're right to only look at B&M options at this point, that will be your best bet.

As to feedback on those programs, I don't know about any of them, but they are all solid state schools. Again, go with close to where you are (or plan to work) to lock down the reputation aspect, and to possibly take part in any vaulable F2F networking opportunities.

I agree with Cory. The school's you chosen are very reputable. I believe that SUNY is ranked highest from your list. I can't remember where I seen it though. I finished my MBA at an online only school and missed out on the face to face connections. I have been making a last minute attempt to connect with them through LinkedIn but it just isn't the same. I would say if you have a large network, you probably wouldn't need to go on-site as someone with a small network. You are definitely on the right track with the B & M with an online option. When I mention my school, people think I graduated from a top military school in San Diego, or West Point. Most have never heard of it.

    Good luck on your decision.

OT: JuneBride, How did you become a training analyst for EPIC? Did you get a Corporate Training Certification?

    Thanks. :cool2:

Not yet! Hopefully soon. I was hired as a training analyst at a hospital for Flowcast (GE product) but I am also training EPIC (I was trained by a certified user) while our hospital is having many Go-Live's.
