Guys, what does this mean (from Lawrie Miller's site):

Excelsior College award of semester hour credit for an acceptable performance in the GRE subject exams is to end. This information came to us from an Excelsior student (name withheld ) who writes:

Got this from Excelsior today: "Excelsior College will no longer grant credit to any student enrolling on or after September 1, 2010, for any GRE Subject Test. This decision was approved by the Academic Affairs Council on August 11, 2010. Should any currently enrolled student wish to use GRE Subject credit, they will need to contact their advisor and have an official GRE transcript sent in by September 1, 2011."

    Many thanks for your help.

Until last year, Excelsior College granted large amounts of credit to anyone who could sit for a GRE subject examination and perform at a high level. I believe that if you scored at or above the 90th percentile, the exam was worth 30 credits - basically an entire major's worth of work in one shot. They stopped allowing new students to use the GRE subject exams last year, and gave current students who were already planning to use the GRE exams a year to get their tests taken and scores submitted. After September 1, Excelsior will no longer grant credit for the GRE subject exams, which I believe leaves COSC as the last school to do so (up to 24 credits - still a considerable amount, but not an entire major in a sitting).
