Hello all, First time here and I understand my post will first be reviewed by a mod for appropriate content before being posted.

My situation is this, I attended a State school, CSUF, for 3 years slowly earning my lower level credits for my business degree. Along the way, I grew dissatisfied with the impersonal atmosphere and eventually stopped going to class. I opened an online business where I gained some experience and general resume padding.

Long story short, I do not wish to go back to CSUF and complete my degree ( I am dis-enrolled and on academic probation ), it would take me 2 semesters to be elligible to enroll again, and another 3-4 to complete my degree.

Anyways, I am hoping to transfer my 80 units from CSUF and 20 odd units from other local JC's into Excelsior and complete my degree from there.

My main question is, how does the unit transfer process go? Do I need to be enrolled before I find out which of my units are accepted? Do I need to explain why I stopped doing to school and the proceeding drop in grades thanks to 5 F's?

I have read as much as my hungry eyes can stand on this site and I have found a wealth of information, but I need some clarification about this topic.

Thank you all beforehand for reading my post.

Hi DangitDave, welcome to Degree Info. Hopefully you will get some information from a member who has experienced similar circumstances. However, it might be best to contact Excelsior directly to insure that you get the best info.

Things have changed some since I attended Excelsior.....

I don't think you will need to enroll to have an evaluation completed. I believe they require you complete an application for admission, pay the application fee, send in all your transcripts so they can do a proper evaluation. Based on the evaluation you can decide to enroll or explore other options. Others will likely weigh in and provide experiences and/or opinions.

On a personal note, I liked Excelsior, and have never had the legitimacy of my degree questioned. I wish you the best in your endeavor.
