Interesting. Video proctoring. But it seems like there would be a way to cheat this. I would be interested to know more than the article gives us.

 

Kryterion offers a pretty sophisticated approach using a combination of biometric scanning, keyboard profiling and live web cam-based proctoring. ProctorU offers a similar type of service. Remote Proctor provides a hardware solution that takes regular 360 degree visual images, along with audio. Axciom uses personalized questions to verify online identity.

None of these solutions is perfect and are designed to make identity fraud and cheating more difficult. As recent stories from the University of Central Florida and other institutions remind us, even face-to-face proctoring cannot eliminate cheating and plagiarism.
