Hello all, I recently took and passed the PMP exam (Project Management Professional) and am now looking at resuming classes at Bellevue again. In the meantime I'd like to start looking at some Six Sigma stuff or possibly SCRUM or Unified Process certifications. Any suggestions? I do not want to do the ASQ Six Sigma Blackbelt thing since I am largely looking for familiarization with Six Sigma projects and not so much to be the resident shaman, kung fu master, black belt, business quality ninja.

I read about Moresteam's program and Villanova is EXPENSIVE so just looking for opinions. I thought about Ed2Go or something similar but if you know of any college online doing actual certifications (as opposed to certificates of completion) I'm all ears.

Great work! I was very relieved when I passed it too.

Unless you are a pure project manager, don't bother with the other certs. PMP by itself says enough along with a list of successful projects you have lead.

I am not yet a pure project manager, though I'm quickly leaning that way since I am tired of being a technologist (not that I ever was much of one to begin with). We shall see...

Congrats on the PMP, I'm sure it will come in handy for you in the future. As for Six Sigma training, if you plan on any type of certification, ASQ is the way to go. However, if your simply trying to become more adept with some of the processes / tools, check out the Pyzdek Institute Six Sigma Training By Thomas Pyzdek « Pyzdek Institute I've sent quite a few of my employees there and have been very happy with the results.

Thanks so much for your recommendation of my training. FYI, The Pyzdek Institute now offers Lean Six Sigma training and certification that is accredited by IASSC.

Thanks for the recommendation. Just so you know, The Pyzdek Institute now offers certification in addition to online training. Our training and certification is accredited by IASSC.

Wow, the man who, literally, wrote the book on Six Sigma is a member of DI. I hope you check in from time to time Mr. Pyzdek, as the discipline seems to be gathering more and more attention in this forum.
