Looking for information on Troy University's eTroy program. I am interested in their Master of Science in Human Resources Management. I was initially looking at National University but I feel that Troy would offer a higher level of name recognition when it comes to future Resume's/Job Applications (post Navy). So does anyone have any experience with Troy University? Specifically their online programs? I'd love to hear any and all information you can give. Thanks.

I have no direct knowledge as regards Troy University; however, I’m certain Troy will meet your needs. On the other hand, I’m currently a MBA student at Tarleton State University (Tarleton is a member university of the Texas A&M University System; since 1917) — TSU as well offers an online MS in Human Resource Management (MSHRM). Dr. Randy McCamey heads the MSHRM program. I took the MGMT 568 (Organizational Development and Change) course from him; an excellent, hands-on instructor who demands high achievement from his students (e.g., you’ll learn something). Tarleton State’s College of Business Administration, as is Troy’s, is ACBSP accredited. However, in contrast to Troy University, Tarleton’s MSHRM degree is a 36-hours program vs. Troy’s 30-hour program.

If tuition costs are a consideration … “Tarleton State University is ranked number one nationally among the best buys in online Masters in Human Resource programs by GetEducated.com.”

Some AACSB programs you may also consider:

University of Houston-Clear Lake (AACSB) offers a 36-hour online MA in HRM
    Online-M.S.-HRM

University of North Texas (AACSB): MBA in Organizational Behavior and HRM
UNT | Graduate Studies | Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management

Villanova University (AACSB): online MSHRM (more name recognition, but expensive @ $930 /CH).
HR Masters Degree | Human Resource Development Masters | Villanova

I like the masters in human resource development at Clemson. Not sure on cost difference.

Considering they are a state school with what appears to be a fairly popular online program I can't believe noone has input on this school. :sad2:

Troy's customer service is horrible from my experience. I can't speak for their graduate program, but I found my advisor to be of no help. It was so bad I decided to attend Liberty instead. I actually was in Troy a couple of weeks ago and like the school for some reason, but due to issues with my advisor I decided to pass on the Trojans.

Mrs Cargojon here - I need to get my own user id :)

I applied to Troy before enrolling at Columbia College. The person who said the customer service was horrible is totally correct. The application process was maddening. I was assigned an 'advisor' who never communicated with me and when he did, he asked for my HIGH SCHOOL transcript. HUH? I had over 35 college credits at a RA school, and when I reminded them of this, I heard nothing.

Also, Troy uses a webcam based proctor service (if exams are proctored) called SecureExam. It's a remote proctor. While it's neat in that you don't need to leave your house or find a suitable proctor, it's kind of creepy and I've read mixed reviews about it.

I was actually really psyched about Troy, but the customer service experience and the "advisor" turned me way off. I absolutely love my school - Columbia College of Missouri, and can say only positive things about their program and their level of customer service. I get responses from my academic advisor in less than 48 hours (usually less than 24) and they are not 'canned' responses. They are real ones.

    Good luck in your search!
    Mrs. Cargojon.
