I came across this program today and noticed that it is offered on-campus (full time) and also off-campus (part time) via partial distance (ie, still requires spending a few weeks during the summers in residence at the school). East Tennessee State University Master of Arts in Storytelling "Exploring the intersections of storytelling with education, theater, communications, folklore, Appalachian and other ethnic/regional studies, linguistics, psychology, business, music, ministry, and more." According to the FAQ page it's offered in thesis (30 credits) and non-thesis (36 credits) options. Re studying via part-time distance: "Part-time students can complete their requirements with as little as two or three 3-week sessions in residence during the summers. Most part-time students end up doing four or so summer sessions plus distance and transferred credits to complete the degree." Not sure what practical applications this might have, just thought it was a unique and interesting program. Oh I found it after seeing it mentioned on this guy's website in his bio ... he's now a pastor in Ohio. Also creator of the [lame/hilarious/surprisingly smart] "Baby Got Book" music video parody.
That was awesome! Now I have a mental wrestling to contend with: what should be my next ringtone? Baby Got Book, or Detachable Penis?
Initially I thought this might be a spinoff of the department of Anthropology but after sprinting through the linked page it seems closer to a performing arts degree than anything else.
